On June 26, the first day of a two-day intensive training course on tactical ultrasound developed on the basis of the FAST protocol under the guidance of international trainers was held at the MAEM.
18 trainees under the guidance of three instructors mastered the basics of ultrasound, learned to conduct examinations of the abdominal cavity, lungs, bones and soft tissues. The second day is devoted to examination of the heart, vessels, vascular access, T-FAST protocol and passing the exam. 80% of the program is the development of practical skills.
An ultra-portable ultrasound device can be used at any stage of assistance to injured persons. Its use is often an integral part of the examination according to the concept of “damage control”. The skills that trainees master can save someone’s life in extreme conditions.
Priority specialties for training: emergency room doctors, surgeons, anesthesiologists/resuscitators, disaster medicine doctors and emergency department doctors. However, a doctor of any specialty can participate in the training.
The training is conducted using Sonosite Turbo equipment (USA), CardioSystems wireless ultrasound sensors (France) and Vscan Air (Norway).
