IAEM Scientific Work
Despite the grueling war, in which our people are fighting for their independence against Russian aggression, transformations and reforms are taking place in Ukraine, which determine further development.
Employees of the International Academy of Ecology and Medicine PVNZ participate in scientific events, which are a platform for discussing urgent problems in the medical field. Such events were the scientific and practical conference with international participation “Actual issues of public health and environmental safety of Ukraine” (Nineteenth Marzeev readings), which took place at the State University “Institute of Public Health named after O.M. Marzeeva NAMNU” 10.19.23. and the recent National Forum “Waste Management in Ukraine: Legislation, Economy, Technologies” (November 21-23, 2023). At the forum, a report was presented by the head of the Department of Medical and fundamental disciplines Bilyk T.I. with co-authors “Measures to increase biosafety during the collection and disposal of medical waste in the practice of managing a medical facility.”
October 19, 2023, at the State University “Institute of Public Health named after OHM. Marzeev NAM” a scientific and practical conference with international participation “Actual issues of public health and environmental safety of Ukraine” (nineteenth Marzeev readings) was held.
This year, the conference is dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of O.M. Marzeev – an outstanding scientist, the founder of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of Ukraine, the founder of the first scientific research institute of communal hygiene in Ukraine, whose name is proudly and honorably borne by the “Institute of Public Health named after OHM. Marzeev National University”, continuing to develop his ideas in the development of public health.
Marzeev readings have been held on the basis of the Institute for almost 20 years and have become traditional for scientists and practitioners who are interested in international processes in the field of preventive medicine and take care of strengthening the public health system in Ukraine.
The conference was held online on the Zoom Meeting platform, where specialists from all over Ukraine, as well as foreign partners and scientists, will take part. About 460 participants took part in the conference – the country’s leading scientists, university teachers, doctors, chemists, biologists, ecologists, physicists, pharmacologists, and specialists of other professions from almost all regions of Ukraine. Among the participants of the conference were representatives of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, scientific and practical institutions of health care of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education of Ukraine, and the State Production and Consumer Service of Ukraine.
The conference was attended by IAEM employees – head of the department of medical and fundamental disciplines, candidate of biological sciences, T.I. Bilyk, with a paper on the topic “Danger of iodine deficiency for the population in conditions of martial law” and associate professor of the department of social medicine and of humanitarian disciplines, Ph.D., Ph.D., Vytsyuk A.A., with the word “Regarding the rational nutrition of children of primary school age”. Conference participants performed test tasks in accordance with the BPR (continuous professional development) program and received certificates of professional development.
Abroad distance training of teachers of the PHEI IAEM
From January 19 to March 15, 2022, the teachers of the PHEI IAEM – Rector, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Ivan Volodymyrovych Savytskyi; head of the cafe of medical and fundamental disciplines, candidate of science Tetyana Ivanivna Bilyk and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Ph.D. Pandey Svitlana Anatolyivna underwent a foreign internship in remote mode to improve their qualifications, prepared reports, and received certificates. On the part of Ukraine, the organization of the internship was provided by the National Technical University of Ukraine
“Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky. The partner countries were Turkey (Eskisehir Technical University, Kutahya Dumlupinar University) and Poland (Rzeszów University of Technology).
The goal of the remote internship abroad was to get acquainted with foreign approaches to the implementation of the educational process in the training of specialists from various fields, as well as to improve the qualifications of educators and scientists and deepen cooperation in the academic and scientific field between Ukraine and other countries.
As a result of the internship, the following topics and tasks were considered and implemented.
- Familiarization with the Schuhart-Döming method in time management of a modern educator.
- Participation in the training seminar “Research integrity: how to plan scientific activity without violations.”
- Exchange of experience in the context of interdisciplinary partnership.
- Listening to the lecture “Development of human capital: on the way to quality reforms in education.”
- Exchange of experience in the implementation of double degree programs: the experience of Taras Shevchenko KNU.
- Acquaintance with modern trends and practical tools for the safety of human life and health.
- Consideration of modern mechanisms for the involvement of motivated young specialists from Ukraine in the processes of maintaining peace and international security.
- Participation in the seminar “Educational video in the work of a teacher of a higher education institution.”
- Consideration of quantitative and qualitative assessment of the sustainability of the development of society.
- Listening to a lecture on the topic: “Official etiquette of a modern teacher and scientist.”
- Participation in the training seminar “Erasmus+: writing and submitting a project application”.
- Exchange of experience in preparing project applications for the National Research Fund of Ukraine.
- Exchange of practical experience in preparing a scientific article for publication in a rating magazine.
The organizers noted that in order to implement the acquired skills and abilities, it is necessary to develop the material and technical base of higher educational institutions and to deepen international cooperation between scientists and teachers.
Abroad distance training contributes to the improvement of the quality and professionalism of human resources, creates conditions for innovative activities, increases the level of integration between educational institutions, and strengthens relationships between partner countries.
The IAEM student won the competition for student scientific works
June 16, 2022, in Kyiv on the basis of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky” the final of the All-Ukrainian competition of students and young scientists with international participation “Intellect of Youth” took place. Rational use of nature and the latest energy-efficient technologies.” The IAEM student Anna Lobanova presented to this competition the work “Supply of the population of Ukraine with vitamin D as an ecological factor affecting health”, co-authored with the student of Radboud University (Netherlands) Valeria Vasyagina (supervisor – head of the department of medical and fundamental disciplines, k. b.n. Bilyk T.I.).
This work was highly appreciated by authoritative members of the competition jury and won the prize in 2nd place. Abstracts of the best works of students submitted to the competition were published in the corresponding collection, and the winners were awarded diplomas and gifts from domestic and foreign sponsors.

Within the framework of the international INCLUDE ME+ project, the online course “Digital Media for Inclusive Peacebuilding” has been introduced, offering new opportunities for developing digital competences, intercultural dialogue, and inclusive education. The course is designed to promote a modern approach to using digital media as a tool for social change, participation, and peacebuilding.
