Rights and obligations of scientific-pedagogical, scientific and pedagogical workers, guarantees and professional development
Scientific-pedagogical, scientific and pedagogical workers of the Academy have the right:
- to academic freedom, which is realized in the interests of the individual, society, and humanity in general;
- to academic mobility for carrying out professional activities;
- to protect professional honor and dignity;
- to participate in the discussion and resolution of issues related to the activities of the Academy;
- to elect and be elected to the general meeting (conference) of the labor team and the Academic Council of the Academy, the pedagogical council of the separate structural unit;
- to choose teaching methods and tools that ensure high quality of the educational process;
- to ensure the creation of appropriate working conditions, raising one’s professional level, and organizing rest and living, established by the Academy’s normative legal acts, the terms of the individual labor contract, the Collective Agreement, and the norms of the current legislation of Ukraine;
- to free use of the library, information resources, and services of educational, scientific, sports, cultural, and educational divisions of the Academy;
- to protect intellectual property rights;
- for advanced training and internship;
- to participate in citizen associations;
- for social and pension insurance in accordance with the procedure established by law, etc.
Scientific-pedagogical, scientific, and pedagogical workers also have other rights provided for by the current legislation and this Charter. Scientific-pedagogical and scientific workers of higher educational institutions are entitled to all the rights provided by legislation for scientific workers of scientific institutions.
Scientific-pedagogical, scientific and pedagogical workers are obliged to:
- to provide teaching at a high scientific-theoretical and methodical level of educational disciplines of the relevant educational program by specialty, to conduct scientific activities (for scientific and pedagogical workers);
- to increase the professional level, pedagogical skill, and scientific qualification (for scientific and pedagogical workers);
- to adhere to the standards of pedagogical ethics and morality, to respect the dignity of persons studying at the Academy, to instill in them a love for Ukraine, to educate them in the spirit of Ukrainian patriotism and respect for the Constitution of Ukraine and state symbols of Ukraine;
- to develop independence, initiative, and creative abilities in persons studying at the Academy;
- to comply with the Statute of the Academy, norms of the current legislation of Ukraine, international treaties, the binding consent of which was given by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and norms of international law (exclusively for participants in foreign economic activity).
Scientific-pedagogical, scientific, pedagogical, and other employees of higher educational institutions: proper conditions are created for work, professional development, organization of life, recreation, and medical care; compensation is paid in case of job loss in accordance with the law.
Scientific-pedagogical, scientific, and pedagogical workers of the Academy receive additional payments determined by the norms of the current legislation of Ukraine.
The rector of the Academy, on the proposal of the vice-rector elected by the General Meeting of the Founders (owners) as their representative, establishes the procedure, amounts of additional payments, allowances, bonuses, material assistance, and incentives for pedagogical, scientific-pedagogical, scientific and other employees of the Academy in accordance with the legislation and the Collective Agreement.
Pedagogical and scientific-pedagogical workers improve their qualifications and undergo internships in relevant scientific and educational institutions, higher educational institutions, as well as in enterprises, institutions, organizations, state bodies, and local self-government bodies both in Ukraine and abroad.
The Academy has the right to provide advanced training and internships for teaching, research, and teaching staff.
The results of advanced training and internship are taken into account: during the certification of teaching staff; during election to a position by competition or concluding an employment contract with scientific and pedagogical workers.
