The purpose, tasks, organization, and implementation of scientific, scientific-technical, and innovative activities at the Academy. Intellectual property rights and their protection

Scientific, scientific-technical, and innovative activities at the Academy are an integral part of educational activities and are conducted with the aim of integrating scientific, educational, and industrial activities in the higher education system.

Subjects of scientific, scientific-technical, and innovative activities are scientific, scientific-pedagogical workers, persons studying at the Academy; other employees of the Academy, as well as employees of enterprises that, together with the Academy, conduct scientific, scientific-technical, and innovative activities.

The main goal of scientific, scientific-technical, and innovative activity is to acquire new scientific knowledge by conducting scientific research and development and directing it to the creation and implementation of new competitive technologies, types of equipment, materials, etc. to ensure the innovative development of society, training of innovative specialists.

The main tasks of the Academy’s scientific, scientific-technical, and innovative activities are: obtaining competitive scientific and scientific-applied results; and application of new scientific, scientific, and technical knowledge during training of specialists with higher education.

Scientific, scientific-technical, and innovative activities at the Academy are carried out in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine on educational, scientific, scientific-technical, and innovative activities. Scientific, scientific-technical, and innovative activities at the Academy can be carried out by state order, as well as in accordance with contracts with enterprises, institutions, organizations of all forms of ownership, international contracts, grants, and other incomes with service through banking institutions without restrictions from state bodies, the sphere of management of which includes higher educational institutions.
Scientific, scientific technical, and innovative activities can be carried out both directly by the Academy and through legal entities created by it, the subject of which is exclusively to bring the results of scientific scientific and technical activities of the Academy to the state of an innovative product and its further commercialization.

The organizational structure of innovative activities, including the creation of science parks, small innovation-oriented enterprises, and interaction with them, is determined by the Academy independently in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine.

Scientific-pedagogical, scientific, and pedagogical workers, other employees of higher educational institutions, persons studying at the Academy, as well as employees of other organizations may be involved in the performance of scientific and scientific and technical works at the Academy.
The acquisition, protection, and protection of the rights of the Academy regarding the results of its own scientific and scientific-technical activities is ensured in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine on intellectual property, scientific, scientific-technical, and innovative activities.

The Academy has the right to implement the results of its own scientific and scientific and technical activities (objects of intellectual property rights), which involve the use of objects of intellectual property rights in its own educational (scientific) activities and/or in the educational (scientific) activities of another higher educational institution (scientific institution).

The Academy has the right to transfer objects of intellectual property rights to another legal entity or individual for use in economic activity by selling or contributing to the authorized capital of the enterprise in order to obtain profit from their use.

The Academy, upon acquiring intellectual property rights:

• performs protection of intellectual property rights, obtains protective documents for objects of intellectual property rights;
• pays rewards to the creators of objects of intellectual property rights at the expense of the funds received from their use in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine;
• concludes agreements on the transfer of property rights of intellectual property or granting permission for the introduction of objects of intellectual property rights into the educational process.

The Academy carries out measures to commercialize objects of intellectual property rights, property rights to which they have acquired. If objects of intellectual property rights of the Academy were created partly at the expense of the customer’s (customers) funds, and partly at the expense of state funds, the property rights regarding such objects of intellectual property rights are distributed on the basis of the agreement on their creation and are used in accordance with the terms of the agreement on their transmission The contract on the creation of an object of intellectual property rights by order must determine the methods, conditions and procedure for the use of such an object by the customer.
